The color of the pearls is very close or identical to the color of the product image. It is a nice, bright uniform teal color that I really like. On the down side, the brightness does make it hard to match with clothes, but it would go beautifully with white or black. The necklace is a good length and comfortable, my only complaint being the fastener. It is cheap and rather delicate looking. I much prefer the fastener for this near identical set: Teal Freshwater Cultured Button Pearl Necklace and Stud Earring Set with Stainless Steel Clasp (6-7mm), 18+2" Extender. I got the lavender version of that set and have really loved it (though after months of abusive wear, the string finally snapped). If you don't care about getting a bracelet, then that set is the way to go (it is also a much better deal price wise).
